Starting a new sketchbook led straight to wanting to paint. After drawing and editing I felt I needed to go back to painting as it was and is something I enjoy. After studying the artist Jane Cornwall I started making marks within the style she uses. I mainly focused on the piece in which I studied within my analysis. I started by mixing together paint and water to create a dark, smooth tone. I then started to add white paint as the piece began to dry. After this, I added black tones upon the piece. However, I do not think this piece worked well, I feel you tend to stare at the black smudge within this piece, and I would try to word it differently but when I look back at this piece, all I can think of this the smudge. The tone behind this piece did work well, which is something I would like to look at recreating further on within this sketchbook.
